Instagram DM automation for salons

Give clients a useful first reply while your team is with someone in the chair. Send the service information, price list or booking link they asked for, and leave custom requests to your staff.

Example: PRICE or BOOK on a salon post

  1. 1 · Client comment: PRICE on a service post, or BOOK on a post inviting appointment enquiries.
  2. 2 · Configured private reply: PRICE: “Here is our current service information and price-list link.” BOOK: “Here is our salon’s booking link.” Write separate, relevant responses and add your actual links.
  3. 3 · Client asks for something custom: “Can you quote for a colour correction?” or “Can you fit a bridal party in with my preferred stylist?” These questions need a consultation or staff review, not a guessed price or time.
  4. 4 · Staff responds: Review the conversation and pause Repli’s automated replies with the available takeover control. A staff member discusses the request and explains how to proceed.

Illustrative enquiry, not a customer result or product screenshot. A matching comment can allow the initial private reply; further messages require the person to reply and remain eligible. Sending a booking link does not reserve an appointment.

Answer the enquiry before discussing the appointment

A haircut Reel, a nail-design post or a treatment Story often prompts the same questions: “How much?”, “What does this include?” and “How do I book?”. Configure a relevant response for that enquiry, using the information your salon has approved—not an automatic personalized quote.

This page is about Instagram enquiry replies and link sharing. The Instagram appointment-booking page describes a separate configured booking workflow; the salon/spa use-case page covers WhatsApp. Here, the booking link or a staff member supplies the next step, not a claim that the requested stylist or time is available.

Set up a salon enquiry reply

  1. Connect Instagram: Use your professional Business or Creator account and approve the required permissions through the existing connection flow.
  2. Choose a relevant trigger: Select a comment-to-DM rule for the service post, or a separate incoming-DM keyword rule for your common requests.
  3. Add approved information: Write the service reply and add the current price-list or booking link. Do not offer a slot or quote that has not been checked.
  4. Test and review: Test from another account and review the send result. Check the links, then use takeover when a conversation requires staff judgment.

Why teams choose Repli

What you get

Post-specific comment replies

Configure a comment-to-DM rule for PRICE or BOOK on the relevant post or Reel, with the service information and link you want to send.

Incoming DM keywords

Use separate incoming-DM rules for requests such as MENU or OFFER. Match the request to maintained service details instead of replying with an unrelated promotion.

Your information and links

Write the reply yourself and include your published price-list, service-menu or booking-page link. Keep the source information current.

Human takeover

Pause automated replies when bespoke pricing, complaints or treatment questions need a person. Local takeover pauses Repli; it does not automatically transfer the thread to another app.

Use cases

Price-list requests

PRICE on a nail or hair-service post → the configured service description and price-list link. Staff provides a final quote where condition, length or a consultation changes the price.

Service details

MENU in an incoming DM → your service-menu link and approved description. Questions about allergies, suitability or a treatment result need professional review.

New-client offers

OFFER in an incoming DM → the actual new-client terms and offer-page link you supply. Staff checks exceptions; Repli does not invent discounts or establish eligibility.

Booking enquiries

BOOK on an appointment-enquiry post → your existing booking link. A request for a specific stylist, group visit or special timing goes to staff or your booking service.

Share a booking link—not a promise of stylist availability

This Instagram enquiry flow does not check a stylist’s availability, create a confirmed booking or synchronize a salon calendar. It sends the booking link you supply. Your booking service or staff checks the requested service, person and time, and confirms any appointment separately.

For colour corrections, bridal packages, treatment suitability, complaints and custom pricing, give the client a clear next step with a person. Do not treat a keyword, link click or enquiry as a confirmed appointment or consent to unrelated ongoing promotions.

Frequently asked questions

Which Instagram account types are supported?

Connect a professional Instagram Business or Creator account. Personal accounts are not supported for this connection; required permissions and Meta account access still apply.

Can PRICE or BOOK comments trigger a DM?

Yes. Configure a matching comment-to-DM rule on the relevant post or Reel and write its private reply. A comment does not guarantee delivery or allow unlimited follow-up; permissions, recipient eligibility and Meta restrictions apply.

Can clients request the price list in a DM?

Yes. Configure a separate incoming-DM keyword rule and its response. You can also handle incoming Story replies through the supported account path; test the chosen trigger. A view, like or follow alone does not authorize this enquiry flow.

Can we send an existing salon booking link?

Yes. Include your current booking-page link in the configured reply. Sending it does not check stylist availability, synchronize calendars or confirm an appointment.

Who handles custom requests?

Your staff handles bespoke quotes, treatment suitability, complaints and exceptions. Use the available takeover control to pause automated replies, then have a person respond. Instagram Login takeover does not automatically transfer thread ownership to another app or provide team assignment.

Does Repli know our prices or new-client offer terms?

Only use information you supply and maintain in the configured reply. Repli does not infer your salon’s prices, create discounts or decide whether a custom request qualifies for an offer.

Is this the same as the salon/spa WhatsApp page?

No. This page covers Instagram comments and incoming enquiries with configured replies and supplied links. The salon/spa use-case page covers WhatsApp; the Instagram appointment-booking page covers a separate booking workflow.

Which plan should we choose?

Compare the current plans for the triggers and features you need. Do not assume all Instagram features are free or included with comment-to-DM access. AI replies, if you enable them, use separate credit rules. Delivery is not guaranteed.
